Financing solutions for renewable energies, grid expansion and infrastructure

Smart meters, e-mobility, wind power, bioenergy or photovoltaics: the generation, distribution and consumption of energy are undergoing fundamental change. More and more energy is being generated locally and decentrally, and energy consumption is being intelligently monitored and made plannable. A new infrastructure is needed for electric mobility with its electric and hybrid cars. With its extensive experience in the financing of energy projects, Deutsche Leasing Group with its subsidiary DAL Deutsche Anlagen-Leasing GmbH & Co. KG, enables investments in the future of energy.

Long before the introduction of the German Renewable Energy Sources Act, DAL had already developed financing structures for energy and renewable energy projects. These included the financing of wind farms, leasing of gas and steam power plants, biomass power plants and photovoltaic systems, as well as projects to expand fibre optic and broadband networks.

Individual concepts for specific requirements

DAL's experts have many years of experience and comprehensive state-of-the-art knowledge and ensure long-term financing - also involving the local savings bank as a financing partner. DAL has the right solution for structuring the financing of large-scale projects such as biomass power plants or wind farms in particular. There is a considerable need for investment, which often has to be resolved under the challenging conditions of municipal budgets - which are further restricted by the debt brake or Basel IV.

The individual concepts respond to such challenges, meet the specific requirements of the clients and take into account the tax and corporate law framework. In addition, there is always the requirement to optimise the profitability of each project by integrating subsidies.

Particularly for municipal utilities and local authorities, composite solutions are offered in the following areas:

  • Own power generation
  • Takeover of existing networks
  • Development of own network infrastructure ("remunicipalisation")
  • Mandatory rollout of intelligent metering systems (smart meters)
  • Development of own, decentralised storage capacities
